Don't pass on Promotions! (Mindset Change Below)

At 23 y/o, I signed up for my 1st exam. Senior members found out I was testing so early in my career and had a lot of negative things to say. Unfortunately, I let that affect me and stopped studying. This led to a bad exam day performance and poor score. I did NOT get promoted. 

MY FIRST EXAM
(2015)

5 years later, I didn't care what others had to say anymore. But, for this exam it was an extremely competitive environment with over 15 other candidates. I was worried I waited too long and I may never get promoted. I studied very hard and scored well. I earned my promotion to Lieutenant.

LIEUTENANT PROMOTION (2020)

At my Department, Captain's Act out of Grade as the Shift Commander. A HUGE jump in responsibility. I tested (Sole Assessment Center) at 30 years old, scored well and was promoted at 31. Since then, I've commanded Fire Grounds but still have much to learn. You can do it too!
